Praise God!

What an awesome couple of months it has been since our last update! God is so good, and we’re excited to share all that’s been happening.

At the time of our last prayer letter, we were about to go into a busy summer filled with special events and visitors, and we’re pleased to report these went very well! Rather than doing a week long VBS, we did several kids events spread throughout the summer that were focused on various new “hobbies” to teach the kids, like crochet or bug collecting. They were well attended, and the gospel was shared with these kids at each event. Pray that God will continue to work in their hearts, and that He will provide more opportunities to minister to them.

We have had two new families coming along regularly to the church, bringing 6 more kids between them, all under the age of 11! It is so encouraging to see God working in this community, especially with young families. However, this has introduced a new (good) problem for us to solve. How do we fit all these people!? The space we have has been great, but it is beginning to fill up on Sundays. What is particularly difficult is that we have only one room, and for Sunday School it is very hard to teach 16 children of various ages along with an adult class with just a room divider in between us. Pray with us that God will open the door for a solution soon.

We had the amazing opportunity to do our first baptism service over the summer. Among the four who were baptized, two were Lincoln and Oliver! I can’t express what a blessing it is to be able to baptize our own children and see them fully committed to their faith in Christ. We held our service in the afternoon at a nearby church that was kind enough to let us use their facilities. After the baptisms, we had a time of fellowship, and it was a very special day. The following week, we gathered together before the service and officially organized as a local church. Seventeen people joined the membership that day, and we elected Tim and Trevor as pastors.

It was great to have Autumn’s parents staying with us for a few weeks over the summer. We left their visit a surprise from the kids until they walked in to the living room to see Grandma and Papa sitting on the couch!

It’s hard to believe, but Elowen has started Primary 1 this year, so now all three of our kids are in school. Keep praying for them! God has answered your prayers so far by protecting our kids and giving them good friends, but don’t stop praying for them to be good witnesses for Him and to stay faithful, even when most of their friends may not understand.

Please continue to pray for the church. It is very exciting to see God blessing and to see all the good things happening. However, we know that the enemy often attacks at times like these. Please pray that God will protect the people in our church and that through them more and more people will come to hear the gospel. We’d also ask you to join us in praying, specifically, for the salvation of people in Dalgety Bay and Dunfermline. We have seen a lot of growth with the believers in our church and have been encouraged by those coming along, but we hope and pray that the next few months will be bring opportunities for people to hear the gospel and choose to follow Jesus.
