Summer Again!
June has been an extraordinarily busy month, and July isn’t shaping up to be any different! We are excited about the opportunities God provided this month, and we look forward to what is to come.

A lot of the busyness in June was related to the end of the school year for our kids. Their last term has been filled with activities like the school’s Colour Me Rainbow Run, the Dunfermline Children’s Gala, Oliver’s choir concert and bowling with the school’s Glee club, parent night at Elowen’s gymnastics (just watching, no participating!), and the Primary 7 (Lincoln’s school year) panto of Jock and the Beanstalk. Because this is Lincoln’s last year at primary school, we’ve also had high school visits, a P7 Leavers’ Assembly, and a P7 Leavers’ celebration. All of these activities give us chances to get to know our kids’ school better, and we’ve enjoyed being able to help, watch, or participate in all of these events.
Besides our usual ministries at church, we organised a church walk at the end of May and in June we participated in the Dalgety Bay Gala. The church walk was super fun and well attended. There were twenty-six people (half of which were kids!) walking together around Lochore Meadows. At the end of the walk, the kids were able to play at the playpark - probably their highlight of the day!
At the Dalgety Bay Gala, we set up a table with literature about our church and about the kids ministries we are putting on this summer. We had planned to set up a large marquee for people to come in and walk around, but the wind was intense, and our tent ended up destroyed! Thankfully, the Gala organizers found us a place inside to set up, which we were extremely grateful for. Our table was smaller than we had planned for, but a steady stream of people came through our area. We had loads of people stop to spin the prize wheel that our coworker, Amelia, was manning. She handed out so many prizes that we had to restock twice! We estimate that around 100 flyers about our summer ministries were handed out to the parents who stopped with their kids. Please pray that we’ll see fruit from these efforts!

As we look to July, we anticipate another busy month, but it will be a different kind of busy. Autumn’s younger sister is getting married, and we are grateful that we will be able to fly back and be there for her wedding. We’ll be in Iowa for just over two weeks, and we look forward to spending time with family, some we haven’t seen since we moved to Scotland three years ago. We are also visiting a few of our nearby supporting churches, and we look forward to seeing everyone there as well.
Once we get back, we’ll have about a week to put the finishing touches on our summer ministries, which we’re calling Kids’ Edition: Hobby Workshops. We have planned a full day of workshops where kids can drop in for the specific hobbies they are interested in or stay all day to learn how to do a variety of things like model painting, table top games, crochet, no-bake cooking, or nature exploration. We’ll have a Bible lesson in between the morning workshops and another in the afternoon. We did something similar last year, and we had a good number of kids able to attend, so we are hopeful this year will have an even greater turnout. We also have the unique opportunity of having a couple of individuals from our community come in to help facilitate these workshops. This will be their first exposure to our church, though we are quite familiar with them personally. Please pray that these ministries will be God glorifying, fun for everyone involved, and that our church is able to introduce these kids to Jesus and His love for them.

Thank you for your prayers and support for our ministry. We look forward to telling you what God is able to accomplish through these summer ministries in future updates!
